The AP State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh’s issue is taking a twist daily. After High court reinstated Nimmagadda as the Election Commissioner, Nimmagadda himself announced that he took charge and the election commission also issued circular No.317 under which Ramesh Kumar will continue as the SEC of AP for 10 more months.
After issuing the circular, the SEC secretary has announced that the decision to reinstate Nimmagadda as the Election Commissioner was taken back. Amid a lot of confusion, the AP government said that the tenure of the Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar as the SEC is completed and they can’t accept his appointment.
Now, the Jagan’s government came up with a new argument stating that his re-appointment isn’t valid. If the re-appointment of the SEC is invalid, previously, how could they bring in an ordinance for reducing the tenure of the SEC? What is that logic behind the invalidation of his re-appointment which wasn’t discussed in the high court?
Without any answer to these questions, the AP government already appointed a new IAS officer, Vani Mohan, as the new SEC secretary. So, it is quite clear that the government is out of moves and Jagan’s people are just beating around the bush without having any legitimate logic or proofs to prevent Nimmagadda from taking charge.
