Police at Nalgonda registered a case against BJP Telangana president and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay and few other BJP leaders for flouting the lockdown orders on Tuesday. A case under Section 188 of the IPC has been registered against the MP and other BJP workers in Nalgonda district.
As per reports, on Tuesday Bandi Sanjay had visited Nagarjuna Sagar constituency. Apart from that he also toured the Ootapalli Orange gardens at Peddavoora mandal in the district, along with BJP party workers from the district,
There was a huge group assembled and disregarded to follow the mandatory social distancing and other rules as per covid-19 protocol. In this regard, superintend of police AV Ranganath informed that a case was booked by Peddavoora police against Sanjay and other party leaders who attended along with him in the meeting.
Sanjay had travelled to express mercy to the farmers who are in deplorable state there and enquired about their ongoing hardships as they could not generate a wee bit of profits due to the lockdown. The farmers appealed to the state Government to purchase the oranges from them and support them in the hard times.
The State Government had issued orders on May 7th, clearly stating that public meetings of any kind involving politicians and assembling of people for any purposes in big numbers is prohibited.
