Harish Rao is known to be a no-nonsense administrator. He is knowledgeable, efficient, smart, versatile and knows what he’s doing. He means business and also never backs down to set people straight if the need arises. Something similar is happening now between him and Electricity department of Telangana.
On the occasion of “Palle Pragathi” events organized all over the Telangana State, Harish Rao participated in Medak district. He was furious on the Electricity department officers that they are not being efficient and responsible in their work.
He had even asked a higher official of Electricity officer to come closer to him and to reveal to the public what was his monthly salary. He hesitated to reveal. Then Harish Rao had asked an IAS officer, Dharma Reddy of his salary. He immediately said his salary is 1.5 lakhs.
Then he asked the Electricity Official again. Then he revealed saying his salary is 3 lakhs per month. Then Harish Rao commented saying that even though they get paid higher than most senior departments, still they don’t work. And the Electricity department officials were left embarrassed.
