In a significant move, the BJP has dragged the Congress President Rahul Gandhi for indulging in ‘contempt of court’ by misquoting.

Congress President in his ‘tweets’ on apex court’s ‘readmission plea’ claimed that the Supreme Court has confirmed Modi’s hand in the Rafale scam.

The apex court, while rejecting the government’s contention that the fresh documents brought before it by three individuals – former Union Minister Yashwant Sinha, renowned journalist Arun Shourie and senior lawyer Prashant Bhushan – in their petition challenging its earlier order were ‘stolen’.

BJP’s senior leader and legal luminary Meenakshi Lekhi has moved the ‘contempt of court’ petition against Rahul Gandhi on Friday, which the Supreme Court admitted and expected to take on Sunday for hearing, according to TV reports.

In fact, the Defence Minister herself had dropped similar hints of moving ‘contempt court of petition’ by the government, while responding Rahul Gandhi’s series of tweets on the Supreme Court verdict.  He also alleged that Rahul not only violated all norms, but also indulged to derive some political mileage by misquoting the ‘verdict.’

The Supreme Court had given ‘clean chit’ to the Modi-headed NDA government in regard to the purchase of 36 Rafale aircrafts from a French firm.  The court verdict was based on the information it sought from the government all details, except technical, it received in ‘sealed cover.’

Disappointed over the SC verdict as well armed with fresh ‘revelations’ in a section of the media that the PMO had indeed intervened in the Rafale deal process and caused financial loss to the state exchequer.  The Opposition, especially, the Congress President Rahul Gandhi, spearheaded the campaign claiming ‘PM Modi’s hands are not clean in the deal’ and also went to town with his favorite slogan ‘Chowki dar chor hai.”

This was notwithstanding a comprehensive debate in both the House of Parliament as well the detailed reply of the Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.  Congress-led Opposition was not satisfied and it had also stalled the proceedings of the House.

The BJP, especially the Defence Minister herself and the Law Minister Ravishankar Prasad, led the counter against the Congress-led Opposition over alleged ‘kickbacks.’  Rahul Gandhi also engaged in unabated and unrelenting over his suspicion of the PM Modi’s direct involvement to help his Corporate Anil Ambani’s Reliance Group.  He even claimed at several public meetings that “Modi ji has put Rs 3000 cr in the pocket of Anil Ambani.”

Interestingly, the French Dassolt company had denied any ‘kickbacks’ and also made it clear that Ambani’s Reliance was one among more than 30 companies considered only as an ‘offset’ partner and that process was yet to begin.   As far as the Government-to-Government between India and French are concerned the Dassault Aviation was supposed to deliver 36 Rafale aircrafts of the 130.
