Tollywood senior actor Gollapudi Maruthi Rao has passed away today in Chennai. Complaining breathing issues, the popular actor had joined in a private hospitaland has been undergoing the treatment for the past one month. Finally, he lost life in the same hospital unable to support to the treatment.
The 80-year-old actor had played multiple roles in Telugu films. Not only as an actor, he is also popular as a screenwriter, dramatist and also dialogue writer. Apart from films, he also contributed to his writings through novels, story volumes, children’s stories etc.
He had also written his autobiography with the title “Amma Kadupu Challaga”. The 550-page book had been filled with all major key episodes of his life.
Gollapudi was seen in over 230 films in Telugu. Prema Pusthakam, Gudachari No., Prema, Samsaram Oka Chadarangam are a few of the films in which he delivered a notable performance. He was last seen in Jodi movie, that has Sai Kumar’s son Aadi as lead. Telugu film fraternity is mourning his death
