Some time back, a biopic on Srilankan legendary spinner Muthiah Muralidaran was announced by MS Sripathy. The movie was supposed to star Kollywood’s versatile actor Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role. However, the actor opted out of the project after several Tamilians opposed it.
On the occasion of Muralidaran’s 51st birthday today, the director has revealed the first look of the movie, which is titled ‘800’. Madhurr Mittal, best known for featuring in Slumdog Millionaire, stepped into the shoes of the legendary spinner.
Produced by Vivek Rangachari under Movie Train Motion Pictures, 800 will be released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu later this year. The Ghibran musical will show the journey of Muralidaran and his record-breaking 800 test wickets and 534 one-day wickets.
