HIT 2 Review – A watchable crime thriller

The second installment of the HIT franchise – HIT: Second case released in theaters today. Here’s our review of the Adivi Sesh Starrer and Sailesh Kolanu directorial..

Story:

Movie starts with an unfaithful wife (of Harsha Vardhan) thread and slowly shifts to a gruesome murder case being investigated by Vizag SP Krishna Dev (KD). Investigation points to multiple murders being inter linked which catches whole police department’s attention and soon becomes a high profile case and talk of the town. How are these victims connected? How KD solves this serial murder case is rest of the story

On-screen performances:

Adivi Sesh is no stranger to thrillers. He is in his element in the role of a cop who sets out on a mission to unravel the mysterious and gruesome murders of multiple women in his jurisdiction. He carries the right demeanor for the role. He is aptly supported by the likes of Rao Ramesh, Srinath Maganti and Komalee Prasad. Meenakshi Chaudhary as Arya plays love interest of Adivi Sesh and she justifies her role.  Other supporting actors like Tanikella Bharani, Posani, Harsha Vardhan and Suhas did perform well in their roles

Off-screen talent:

The director, Sailesh Kolanu sticks to the subject without deviations. The way he connects women’s empowerment organizations and serial killer’s story is good. There is not much scope for the songs or entertainment (comedy) which shows director’s honest attempt.

The background score is in tune with the nature of the film and the narrative. The cinematography and editing is slick. The dark tonal visual presentation is of good quality. Production designing is adequate.

What’s Bad:

1. Average Climax
2. Mystery gets revealed (kind of) in mid 2^nd half

Verdict: First half of the movie is good and keeps you engaged with a nice interval bang. Second half starts promisingly but one could easily relate to the serial killer’s thread by mid second half which makes the rest of the movie not so great. Nevertheless, movie is a “Ok” watch given director’s honest effort to stick to the subject and crispy runtime. Movie ends with revealing HIT 3 investigation officer.

4:00 PM EST : Hit 2 show started. Krishna Dev (Sesh) is Vizag SP. Movie takes a turn with gruesome murder of a girl who works in a bar. 

First Half Report: First Half of Hit 2 is decently engaging, it has all the elements of a good thriller. Really depends on second half  if the movie is going to be an edge of the seat crime thriller.

5:30 PM EST : Investigation begins in the second half, Krishna Dev gets suspended. The culprit keeps on challenging Krishna Dev. 

Final Report: Hit 2 Second half does not follow the same tempo as the first half as audience could easily speculate who could be the culprit in mid second half. Overall the crime mystery thriller Hit 2  makes an okay watch. Keep on checking checking this space for a no spoiler first on net review.
