It is known that India is carrying out Operation Ganga to evacuate its citizens from Ukraine amid Russia’s military operation. However, an Indian doctor, who is from Andhra Pradesh, refused to leave the war-hit nation as he doesn’t want to leave his pets behind.
According to reports, Dr Giri Kumar Patil hails from Tanuku, in Andhra Pradesh’s West Godavari district, and went to the eastern European nation in 2007 to study medicine. He bought a jaguar and panther from the Kyiv zoo about 20 months ago and taking care of them since then. While the jaguar is a 20-month-old male, the panther is a female which is aged six months.
The doctor stuck in Ukraine has said he will not come back without his ‘kids’, to which he referred to his animals. He also said that Megastar Chiranjeevi is his inspiration for petting wild animals. As the news about Dr Patil went viral, now Chiranjeevi responded to this, taking to his Twitter.
“Dear Dr Giri Kumar Patil, I am delighted and touched to learn that your love for Jaguars and Panthers was inspired by me. It is truly heartening that you are not willing to leave them behind during this unfortunate war time and are choosing to stay back in Ukraine for the sake of caregiving to your pet Panther and Jaguars. Your compassion and love for these wonderful creatures is highly admirable,” Chiru wrote in a note.
The actor also prayed for the safety of Dr Patil during this challenging period and wished the war ends soon and normalcy is restored at the earliest.
