Rowdy Boys starring top producer Dil Raju’s nephew Ashish and Anupama Parameswara as the lead pair has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it is.

Story:

Being an engineering student, Akshay (Ashish) falls for a medical college student named Kavya(Anupama Parameswara). Despite knowing the fact that there is a cold war between engineering and medical students, Akshay risks and proposes Kavya which leads to a huge mess between the opposite campus students. Eventually, due to an unexpected scenario, both Akshay and Kavya separate and later Akshay will take a key decision? What is the reason behind the separation of Akshay and Kavya? What decision will Akshay take later? Will the lover birds reunion? Forms the rest of the story.

On-screen performances:

Though Rowdy Boys is Ashish’s debut film, his dance moves and ease in performing action stunts will impress the audience. Acting-wise, Ashish gave a decent performance as the college guy but he needs to improve a lot in terms of acting. Ashish’s dialogue diction is okay but has a camera fear with is visible during a few closeup shots.

Heroine Anupama Parameswara is gorgeous on-screen and her chemistry with Ashish has been showcased in a decent manner. The romantic scenes between the lead pair will be likely by the targetted youth audience.

Young actor Sahidev Vikram is fine in his role as an opposite gang leader. Actor Karthik Ratnam and other artists who played the supporting roles are decent in their roles.

Off-screen talents:

Sri Harsha Konuganti, who earlier directed Hushaaru is the director for Rowdy Boys. Though Harsha’s idea of making a youthful entertainer in the college backdrop is good, he would have worked more on presenting the film with a racy screenplay.

Music by Devi Sri Prasad is good as a few songs are passable on the screen and so is the case with the background score during the hero elevation scenes.

Cinematography work is adequate and so is the case with the editing job. Production values for this Dil Raju’s production house are apt for the film’s genre.

Positive Points:

  • The chemistry between Ashish and Anupama
  • Music

Negative Points:

  • Slow-paced narration
  • Lack of strong conflict point

Verdict: In an overview, Rowdy Boys is a youthful romantic drama that has a few good moments. But the ages-old presentation and lack of gripping moments in the narrative makes the film a below-average fare.
