The fact that the Andhra Pradesh government and the Andhra Pradesh High Court don’t see eye to eye in most matters is nothing new, given that the AP HC’s verdicts have been mostly against the decisions that the AP government has taken, rather than in its favour. Now, the AP HC has given one more verdict against the AP government’s decision.
It is already known that the AP government released GO 53 and GO 54 on August 24 this year fixing fees for students in private schools and junior colleges. These GOs were challenged by the management of several private schools and colleges in the HC, who questioned how the government could take its own decision on lowering the dee, without consulting the management first.
The management of these several institutions said that it is difficult to run their institutions with the kind of fee that the AP government has decided for them. They said that the parents of their students joined their kids in their institutions only after they felt satisfied with their fees. It is now to be seen what the AP government will do.
