A lot of those who were loyal to the Telugu Desam Party shifted their base after the TDP lost miserably in the 2019 elections. A majority of them shifted base to the YSRCP, and while some have managed to be one with the party, some are finding it one of the most difficult tasks.
MLA Vasupalli Ganesh was one of the four TDP MLAs who won in the 2019 elections. However, he shifted to the YSRCP as soon as he won, thinking it to be a better idea. Things don’t seem to be as promised for him anymore, with the MLA facing many issues in the party, as almost every member is against him. At least 3 corporators are begrudging him, with Corporator Sadiq saying that Ganesh is not implementing the directives of YS Jagan on fee exemption in his colleges. The other two corporators – Kandula Nagaraju and Bhaskar Rao – openly slammed the MLA for forcibly removing the kiosks near the school owned by the MLA.
Many other corporators are said to be turning the people against the MLA, with Gnanapuram colony residents saying that the MLA duped them by making them pay money for pucca houses. They even mobbed the MLA and gave him a tough time. Sources close to the MLA said that he is now regretting joining the YSRCP.
