BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has refused to respond to controversial remarks made by India’s Test captain Virat Kohli on his removal from the ODI captaincy.
The other day, the former RCB skipper said he was never asked to stay on as T20 skipper when he made his intent clear on quitting the post. The BCCI President a few days back asserted that Kohli had been requested to not quit the position.
Kohli’s statements on the T20 captaincy triggered a storm as the star cricketer publicly contradicted the remarks made by Sourav Ganguly.
A day after Kohli made these remarks, Ganguly has now refused to comment on the matter, saying the Board will deal with it. “No statements, no press conference. We will deal with it, leave it to (the) BCCI,” Ganguly told media on Thursday.
“I gave the reasons why I wanted to quit T20 captaincy and my view point was received very nicely. There was no offence, no hesitation and not for once was I told that ‘you should not leave T20 captaincy,” Kohli said.
