India has reported three new cases of Omicron variant on Monday – two in Maharashtra (one each in Latur and Pune) and one in Gujarat’s Surat. With the addition of the fresh cases, the total tally of the newly discovered coronavirus variant in the country has reached 41.
The number of Omicron cases in Maharashtra rose to 20 and in Gujarat to 4. The other states to have reported the new variant are Rajasthan (9), Karnataka (3), Kerala (1) and Andhra Pradesh (1) and Union Territories of Delhi (2) and Chandigarh (1).
Meanwhile, India’s Covid recovery rate is currently at 98.37%; Highest since March 2020. The country has reported 5,784 new cases and 252 deaths, while it has seen 7,995 recoveries in the last 24 hours.
India’s daily Coronavirus positivity rate was reported at 0.58 per cent. It has been less than 2% for the last 71 days.
