Nitya Menen, Satya Dev and Rahul Ramakrishna’s comic caper, Skylab has created curiosity among the audience with its promotional stuff. Directed by Vishvak Khanderao, the film has hit the screens today.Let’s analysis it.
Story:
Set in 1970s time period, the fear of a Skylab crash creates panic among the public at a remote village named Bandalingampally in Karimnagar district. What is this Skylab? Where is coming from? How will a license cancelled doctor Anand( Satya Dev), Subedari Rama Rao( Rahul Ramakrishna) and an unsuccessful journalist Gauri(Nitya Menen) try to use the fear of villagers to overcome problems in their respective lives? Forms the main USB of the film.
On-screen performances:
Nithya Menen, Satya Dev and Rahul Ramakrishna who played the lead roles did their part in a convincing manner. While Nitya Menen shines in her role as a aspiring journalist, Satya Dev and Rahul Ramakrishna perfectly fitted in their roles.
Senior actor Tanikella Bharani is fine in his extended cameo role. Other artists who played the supporting roles are apt in their given key roles.
The bonding between Satya Dev and Rahul Ramakrishna is presented in a decent manner. The pre-climax and climax portions which showcases the wishlist of the villagers has good emotional connectivity.
Off-screen talents:
Director Vishvak Khanderao’s idea of writing the script by taking the real life Skylab incident which happened in 1976 as the core concept is good. While the rural premise and setup he created for the film is good, his narration lacks a racy screenplay. If he would have focused on executing the film on a fast note, the result would have been even more better.
Music by Prashanth Vihari is apt for the film’s genre. The sounding has a fresh feel in it. Cinematography by Aditya is nice as he tried to present the entire film with good framing and lighting setup.
Production values for this Nitya Menen and Prithvi’s production venture are good so is the case with the design and Artwork.

Verdict:
In an overview, Skylab is a slow-paced film that has a good setup and impressive performances from the artists. But on the flip side, lack of commercial elements may not go well with all section of the audience. All we suggest is to watch the film with low expectations or wait for an OTT release and watch happily with family members.
