The Election Commission of India on Tuesday released the by-election schedule for the Huzurabad by-poll in Telangana and Badvel Assembly by-poll in Andhra Pradesh.
With the resignation of former Telangana minister Etela Rajender, by-elections will be held for the Huzurabad assembly seat. With the death of Badvel MLA, the by-elections for the Badvel Assembly seat were inevitable.
The election notification will be released on October 1. Nominations will be accepted from the same day. Nominations will be accepted until October 8 and they will be scrutinized on October 11. Candidates can withdraw the nominations on October 13. The election will be held on October 30 and the result will be announced on November 2. The counting will be done on 2nd November.
While the BJP in Telangana has already fielded Etela Rajender and TRS has chosen Gellu Srinivas Yadav, the Congress is yet to announce their candidate.
The Election Commission has released the schedule for two Assembly seats in Telugu states as well as 30 Assembly and 3 Lok Sabha seats in the country.
