India opener Rohit Sharma has finally scored his first Test century outside India on Day 3 of the fourth Test at The Oval. He managed to cross all the hurdles and put a maiden hundred on his name in England.
Before this century, the 34-year-old right-handed batsman’s all centuries in the longest format were scored in India. He completed his century with a massive six off Moeen Ali. The ace cricketer also completed his 3,000 Test runs during the disciplined knock. He scored 105* (220) at a 47.73 strike rate.
Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul began intelligently and picked up from where they left off yesterday. However, pacer James Anderson soon dismissed Rahul for 46 runs in the morning session.
After England scored 290, taking a first-innings lead of 99 runs, the visitors are currently giving a tough time for the hosts. By the time the article wrote, India is led by 103 runs.
