Hindupur MLA and senior actor Nandamuri Balakrishna has landed in a controversy after claiming that he doesn’t know who AR Rahman is. Speaking to a TV channel, the veteran actor had passed some surprising comments which include saying that Bharat Ratna is equal to his father NTR’s toenail.
While speaking about AR Rahman, Nandamuri Balakrishna said, “I don’t know who AR Rahman is. He won an Oscar and I don’t even know who he is. He gives a hit once in a decade.”
Everyone knows that Bharat Ratna is India’s highest civilian award. Speaking about it, the actor said that he feels that Bharat Ratna is equal to his father’s toenail. He claimed no award can compensate for the contribution of his family to Tollywood. “The awards should feel bad. Not my family or my father,” he added.
However, these comments from Balakrishna have sparked controversy and netizens started trolling the actor on social media. Fans of AR Rahman condemn this statement and remained that the Oscar winning composer did music for Balakrishna’s movie Nippu Ravva in 1993.
