In the recently held lengthy day-long review meeting, Telangana CM KCR has decided to credit Rs.10 Lakhs directly into the bank accounts of 11900 Dalit families in 119 constituencies in Telangana. KCR said that under Dalit Empowerment Scheme, Rs. 1200 crores will be transferred directly to the accounts of the beneficiaries.
As per the news in the mainstream media, the amount will be credited into beneficiary accounts before the Huzurabad by-polls. KCR has designed this scheme intending to bring the financially distressed Dalit families out of the vicious cycle.
The real challenge for the KCR govt now is to select a hundred families per constituency. Because there a few thousand Dalit families who are in miserable conditions.
