The incumbent Chief Secretary of AP, Adhithyanath Das retires in June 2021. Against this backdrop, Jagan started his search for the next AP CS. It is being speculated in the bureaucratic circles that CM Jagan is planning to consider senior IAS officer, Y Srilakshmi for the post of AP CS.
Y Srilakshmi IAS has been facing charges against inappropriate assets cases along with YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for while. Initially, Y Srilakshmi is an IAS officer in the Telangana cadre but after getting into power, CM Jagan took her into AP cadre. Now, Jagan is planning to reward her with a principal secretary post in the MAUD department after which he may appoint her as the CS of AP.
