All the institutions set up by the Gajapati Royal family in Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam have been under scrutiny, with major changes taking place in the trusts. The MR Memorial Junior College in Vizianagaram is reportedly going to be closed very soon, followed by the removal of college staff by the MANSAS Trust, which is now under the influence of YSRCP leaders.
The college had also announced earlier that there would be no first-year admissions this year, which has only added fuel to fire. After they were removed, the staff of the Memorial college met with and submitted a memorandum to Urmila Gajapati Raju, the daughter of Anand Gajapati Raju. She is said to have assured the staff that she will strictly oppose the closure of the college, and will make sure that the college remains open and that they get their jobs at all costs, as her ancestors opened the college to make sure that everyone in the area would get proper access to education.
Sanchaita Gajapati Raju, Urmila Gajapati Raju’s half-sister, has been working with the YSRCP leaders for a long time now. She has been the reason for so many changes in the MANSAS Trust. Right from the very beginning, Urmila has been opposing every decision that Sanchaita has been making, and has been trying to undo them,
It is now to be seen if Urmila will be successful in making sure that the MR Memorial Jr College will not be shut down.
