A lot of drama has been surrounding the local body elections of Andhra Pradesh. The government has strictly been opposing conducting elections at this time, but the SEC has plans of his own.
According to the latest reports, the SEC of Andhra Pradesh has removed as many as 9 officers from their election duties. The reasons for this are still unknown. The list of those who have been relieved of their duties has been submitted to the CS and the DGP.
The list of the people removed from their duties includes two collectors, one SP, two DSPs, four CIs, Guntur and Chittoor district Collectors, Tirupati Urban SP, Palamaneru and Sri Kalahasti DSPs.
The notification for the first phase of the local body elections is expected to be released tomorrow at 10 AM, for which meetings with the Panchayati Raj have been scheduled by the SEC today. The details regarding the first phase are expected to be discussed today.
