Bharatiya Janata party has been showing steady progress in Telangana. Last year, the party won 4 MP seats in general election which came as a big surprise. The saffron party has emerged as a strong political force in Telangana now and its good performance in the recent GHMC elections proves the same.
Cut to now, BJP is trying to carry forward the momentum it had gained in Telangana as the party is eyeing a strong position in the other Telugu state, Andhra Pradesh.
Up until now, BJP did not go particularly hard on the ruling party YSRC. But things have changed drastically now.
In his latest media interaction, BJP AP wing president Somu Veerraju said both YCP and TDP government’s neglected Rayalaseema region. He promised that the BJP government would take up development projects in Rayalaseema region with the center’s support if it is voted to power.
Another BJP senior leader Vishnu Vardhan Reddy said YS Jagan is unfit to be the chief minister and he should instead step down and appoint his wife, Bharathi as the CM.
Well, BJP has certainly upped the ante in the twin Telugu states. The party is registering impressive results in Telangana and we need to wait and see if it can emulate a similar feat in Andhra Pradesh as well.
