Comedian Bharti Singh was detained on Saturday in alleged drug cartel case. This was followed by her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa’s arrest on Sunday morning over accusations of possession and use of marijuana.
Agency notified, a “small quantity of cannabis” (86.5 grams) was recovered from their residence in situated in Andheri and also from the production house. Reportedly, Bharti and Limbachiyaa admitted that they consumed Ganja (Cannabis).
Noted comedians Raju Srivastava and Sunil Pal opined about the raining arrests by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in B- town. Both have expressed their concern over Bharti and her husband’s arrest and said they were appalled to hear the news.
Raju Srivastav said, “Can Bharti or her husband do something like this? My heart is not ready to accept it. What is this? People love her so much, millions of people treat her as their idol. Taking drugs will not make you good comedians, or will give you energy. Where is film industry going”. They should rather do exercise and yoga or watch films in free time but not do drugs, he added.
Sunil who introduced Bharti to great Indian laughter challenge stated, “She is a cultured and sweet girl and inspired many women comedians. Even Harsh is a good guy. So how and where all of this started, what sort of groupism this is that is provoking her to take drugs, I am very shocked and sad,”.
