7:11 PM is a Telugu language Science Fiction Thriller which is directed by Chaitu Madala. The film has Saahas Pagadala & Deepika Reddy playing the lead roles while Tess Walsh, Louie Athanasiou, Raghu Karumanchi, Bharat Reddy, Rising Raju & others are seen in important roles. The music is composed by Gyaani and the film is produced by Naren Yanamadala, Madhuri Ravipati & Vani Kanneganti under Arcus Films banner. The film is being distributed by Tollywood’d leading production house Mythri Movie Makers.

Story:

Ravi (Saahas) is an IPS aspirant living in the 1990s in Hamsaladeevi. He is in love with Vimala (Deepika). One day Ravi gets into a local bus and finds himself in Australia the next day. He meets Sarah (Tess Walsh) there and comes to know he has time traveled 25 years ahead and is now in 2024. How does he travel beyond imagination through time to stop a criminal mastermind, save his loved ones and his beloved town forms the rest of the plot.

What about on-screen performances?

Saahas Pagadala does an okay job with the film in his role as Ravi. He especially does well in all the scenes when he time travels to Australia.

Deepika Reddy does justice to her limited role as the hero’s girlfriend Vimala.

Tess Walsh ably supports the hero’s character after he lands in Australia. She looks glamorous and is completely convincing with her expressions.

Bharat Reddy is the only known actor in the entire film and he eases through his role as the main villain.

Louie Athanasiou also leaves a mark in a negitive shaded character.

Raghu Karumanchi, Rising Raju, Sienna, Marina Bi, Vasu Routhu, Charan Kurugonda & others are fine in their supporting roles.

What about off-screen talents?

The story by Chaitu Madala & Hemant K Bhatnagar is good on paper but is not translated well onto the screen. It has got an interesting concept but that’s about it. The subplots are poorly written and there is absolutely zero emotional connect. We never root for the hero to come back nor do we feel something special when he tries to save everyone after coming back.

The screenplay by Chaitu Madala is very ordinary. The first half is not up to the mark and the subplots are very clumsy. The second half somewhat is better with the key twists coming up and the narrative shifting to Australia but again the climax is dragged out unnecessarily and will test your patience toward the end.

The dialogues by Chaitu Madala are just about fine. A few emotional lines are good but the rest do not make an impact.

Chaitu Madala’s direction is not up to the mark. His inexperience in handling a sci-fi subject like this can clearly be seen in his presentation and his flat narration without any highs or proper emotions doesn’t work in favour of the film.

The songs by Gyaani are forgettable and his background score too doesn’t strike a chord. The songs especially in the second half affect the flow of the film big time.

The camera work by Siva Shankar & Fabio Capodivento is pretty decent. The lighting and the colour grading look a bit odd on screen in a few scenes.

The edit by Srinu Thota is mediocre. Almost about 20 minutes of the film can easily be chopped from the film, especially in the first half and the climax portions.

The production values by Arcus Films are adequate.

What’s Hot?

* Pre Interval & Post Interval Twists
* Decent Second Half
* Cinematography

What’s Not?

* Zero Emotional Connect
* Boring First Half
* Poorly Written Sub Plots
* Basic Logics Go For A Toss
* Half Baked Screenplay
* Weak Songs & Routine Background Score
* Bland VFX & Graphics

Verdict: 7:11 PM has got an interesting plot in hand but the execution is very underwhelming. The badly written & poorly portrayed subplots never engage us with the narrative. Can be an easy skip this week!!
