Polling for 234 assembly seats in Tamil Nadu will be held in a single phase. A total of 3,998 candidates are on the fray. Polling will begin at 7 a.m. and continue until 7 p.m.
A total of 6.29 crore people will exercise their right to vote. The AIADMK, which has been in power for ten years, is all set to win for the third time and score a hat-trick.
The DMK hopes that since they received a huge victory in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, they will also win the Assembly elections. Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami and DMK president MK Stalin campaigned vigorously across the state.
Meanwhile, BJP national leaders like Prime Minister Modi and Amit Shah stood by the AIADMK alliance.
Top Congress leader Rahul Gandhi campaigned in support of the DMK alliance. Makkal Nidhimayyam president and senior actor Kamal Haasan has also been campaigning since December 13.
