A tragic road accident left 15 people killed and few others injured. The incident took place on Hyderabad-Bengaluru National Highway 44 in Kurnool’s Veldurthi.
Reportedly, a private bus collided with a Toofan jeep, claiming 15 lives in the jeep. Shockingly, all 15 deceased are from the same family, who were travelling from Ananthapur to their home town Alampur, after attending a wedding match on Saturday. All of them belonged to Ramapuram village in Vaddepalli mandal of Jogulamba Gadwal district in Telangana.
On the other side, the injured passengers in the bus, have been shifted to nearest hospital in Kurnool and are currently undergoing the treatment.
Going with the eyewitnesses, the mishap took place due to the rash driving of the bus driver. The bus was travelling from Hyderabad to Bengaluru and the driver lost control while avoiding hitting a two-wheeler. It was then, the bus hit the road divider, and entered the other side of the road and hit the jeep.
Responding to the issue, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “The road accident in Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool is deeply unfortunate. My thoughts are with bereaved families. I hope the injured recover quickly”.
