12 areas have been identified as Covid-19 hotspots with the largest number of coronary positive cases in the Greater Hyderabad. These twelve areas were declared as containment clusters with 89 positive cases.
These clusters have special operations on sanitation and insecticide spraying, as well as medical, health care, and GHMC employees. If anyone has covid-19 symptoms, they will be examined thoroughly.
These clusters have special surveilance on the influx of people and such hot spots have been cordoned off. GHMC Commissioner DS Lokesh Kumar told reporters on Wednesday.
Special intelligence and other related security issues have been discussed with Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani kumar. Barricading and stringent security activities will continue for a period of time. To avoid difficulties in buying groceries by the public, 330 mobile vendors from Rythu bazaar have been allocated, he said.

GHMC commissioner Lokesh Kumar said safety measures have been implemented to ensure the safety of sanitation workers and masks are also getting ready for them. “Sixty thousand reusable cloth masks are being prepared, which are stitched by women members of Self-help Groups (SHGs). Already 30,000 cloth masks are ready and in a span of four days the remaining masks will be available. We are making sure to supply health kits consisting of gloves, mask, soap, shoes and other miscellaneous”, the GHMC Commissioner said.
